Luke Wagner

A student from ORU and Tulsa native, Luke Wagner makes his debut installation at Bobby Pin with his intricate line drawings.

I have been drawing for as long as I can remember, but only very recently have viewed my drawing as a way to express to the outside world what I'm learning about God, myself, and the world we live in.

Installation runs through October.

Prints of Luke’s work can be purchased at Bobby Pin for $15-$20

June Installation - Dan Kilbride

Dan Kilbride is a Tulsa glass artist and instructor with Tulsa Glassblowing School. He came into the art upon returning home from the military. He had a moment of clarity while coming across the Tulsa Glassblowing School one night.

“I’d been out of the army for about a month, and wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do. Then, some friends of mine and I were walking around on a First Friday and I wandered in here and saw this lady make a vase in about 30 minutes. And it just blew my mind.”

Kilbride signed up for the VETri class at TGS, made his first object — a paperweight. And he was hooked. Working through the VETri program, Dan made his way to being a fulltime instructor there helping other veterans as they deal with adjustment to life after the military.

“Working with glass is for me maybe the biggest high I’ve had in my life,” he said. “And working with the people in this program has been really enjoyable. It’s a creative process, and creativity of this kind isn’t something you see a lot in the military. And that has, I think, opened up a lot of people’s eyes to a softer side of themselves. When they make something, and are proud of it, and you see their eyes kind of light up ... that have a profound effect on you.”
